The Robert Algie Memorial Sports Trust Incorporated became established in 1990, two years after the talented young sportsman died.

The Trust has as its goal the promotion and support of sporting activity for people under the age of 20 years in the Wairarapa Region.  MORE

The Community Boards consider grant applications at their 6-weekly meetings.  The criteria for each board is slightly different but the maximum grant that can be applied for is the same at $500 per application.

Sport nz Rural Travel Fund for Junior Sports

Sports Clubs and schools are invited to apply for grants to subsidise travel costs to enable their junior teams aged 5-19 years to participate in local sport competitions.  Funding is not available for regional or national events or sports competitions undertaken in school time. 

Sports clubs or schools are required to apply to their respective Councils.
