Sport Wellington Volunteer of the Month
The purpose of this award is to recognise the valuable work provided by umpires, referees, judges and officials at all levels in our sporting community. The award is open to all officials.
Rules and Conditions
- Nominations are to be received by 5pm on the 25th of each month. Send entries to Mike Walsh, Sport Wellington Region, PO Box 24 148 Manners St, Wellington or fax to 04) 801 8976 or fill in the online nomination form. The winner will be recognised by Sport Wellington Region.
- Any official in the Wellington Region is eligible.
- The winner will be selected by a panel of three sporting experts. Their decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Sport Wellington Official of the Month for March, Charmaine Ross, who has umpired secondary schools, Men & Womens Evergreens and club competition finals for the Wellington Softball Association.

January 2007
Sport Wellington Official of the Month for January is Collin Wallace who officiates for Touch Wellington. He officiates from Monday til Friday at all the modules in the Wellington region, also officiates at the Maori nationals, NZ Touch nationals and secondary school nationals... all of this on a voluntary basis.
December 2006
"Sport Wellington Official of the Month" for December 2006 is Sam Leota, Manager of the Porirua College Volleyball team. He was the foundation of a good management team that assisted the Porirua College Junior Boys Volleyball Team to win both the Wellington Secondary Schools Regionals and the North Island Junior Secondary Schools Championship.
