Support the sport and physical recreation sector to ensure that people with disabilities are provided with the opportunities to participate and have enjoyable, active lifestyles through the pathways from early childhood, schools and into the community.

Role of the Sport Opportunity Advisor
Is to give people with a disability the same opportunities as everyone to participate, enjoy and achieve in their choice os sport or active leisure. The Sport Opportunity Advisor will help link people with physical sensory and intellictual disabilities into the community based sport and will work within the following key areas:
Regional Sports Trusts
Provide support to ensure that all Regional Sports Trusts Programmes have incluseive philosophies as an integral part of them.
Schools
Work with Primary, Intermediate & Secondary Schools in conjunction with existing Regional Sports Trust programmes to ensure that all children with a disability are included in school Physical Education and Sport. Assist school and inter-school sports programmes.
Community
Provide opportunities and support for people with a disability to get involved within their community in sport, or active leisure. Work with people on a one to one basis ans assit them on a sporting pathway.
