Halberg Trust SportAccess

The Halberg Trust is committed to ensuring people with a disability can participate in inclusive sport and active leisure within their community. This is being achieved by a network of Sport Opportunity Advisers working within Regional Sports Trust throughout New Zealand.
   
Halberg Trust SportAccess Objective is:

To develop and increase accessible sports clubs and facilities that provide sustainable inclusive sport and active leisure opportunities for people with a disability.

In collaboration with the Halberg Trust Sport Opportunity Advisor, representatives from the club or facility complete the Halberg Trust SportAccess Self Review to determine where the club or facility is currently at, identify any gaps, and provide for these gaps with the development and implementation of a Disability Action Plan.
   
Halberg Trust SportAccess Award

Halberg Trust SportAccess will reward inclusive clubs and facilities that:
A) Have a long term commitment to promoting inclusion of people with a disability
B) Complete a self review using Halberg Trust SportAccess
C) Develop and Implement a Disability Action Plan by providing a Halberg Trust SportAccess Award - Gold, Silver or Bronze. The club or facility is encouraged to progress through the levels with the vision of achieveing a Halberg Trust Sport Access Award - Gold to proudly display at their club or facility.
