Parafed Wellington
Parafed Wellington recognises the "No Exceptions" policy and is an advocate and facilitator for members with disabilities to have access to sporting and recreational activities. Parafed Wellington is committed to providing assistance and resources, including funding assistance for equipment.
Some of their programmes are integrated with mainstream sports and they have developed ongoing partnerships with many able bodied sports organisations.
Parafed Wellington has special partnerships with Sport Wellington and in particular our Sport Development and Sport Opportunity teams.
Parafed Wellington in partnership with Halberg Trust offers pathways in sport by providing a wide range of sporting activities - events to "Have-a-Go" followed by coaching programmes with the opportunity to compete regionally, nationally and internationally.

Adaptive AthleticsNewtown Park, (Next to the Zoo). Every Saturday October to March WHO - Young people with a disability. All levels of ability welcome. WHAT - Program includes fundamental skills training in running, jumping and throwing. Recreation and competitive opportunities available. Trained and committed coaches. Opportunities to be linked into Parafed, Special Olympic and Harrier Club activities provided. WHERE and WHEN - As above, Newtown Park Track, 10.00 to 11.00am every Saturday October to March. If weather is bad, indoor drills provided. WEAR - Comfortable sports clothes and sports shoes. Something warm must be taken as Newtown Park can get cold.
